Spotify Updates So You Can Follow Artists, Get Personal Recommendations, and More

Music streaming service Spotify is rolling out a few new handy features that'll make it easier to find the perfect music to listen to at any time. You'll be able to follow artists, get new personalized music recommendations, and even sample another song without leaving the one you're currently playing.

Spotify has a vast catalogue of music and sometimes it's hard to find the right music to listen to at a particular moment. The new features are designed to solve that issue.

One of the coolest new features is you can follow and find out what's playing not just for your friends, but for artists as well. You can now find out what Metallica is listening to, for example. Think you've got a killer playlist? You could also share your soundtracks to social networks.

Spotify will now also suggest music and playlists by "influencers" (such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Pearl Jam, and others), show new single and album releases, and also recommend other music based on you listening preferences?a la Pandora.

The new features will be rolling out in the desktop app over the next few weeks, with a full upgrade available next year, so stay tuned (no pun intended).
